Unlike many ‘design and build’ companies, we don’t rely on standard plans or cookie-cutter layouts. This allows us to design around your individual vision, and results in a more collaborative process overall.
When you design and build with Y Projects, there’s no ‘our way or the highway’
So we welcome your napkin sketches, moodboards and site visits. We want your fingerprint to be all over your new home, but we’re also happy to take the lead if you don’t know where to start.
Our Y is simple. We were tired of watching clients pour time and money into designs that were never going to be built. So we built a better way — one that combines creativity with buildability from the start, and puts the client experience at the centre of every decision.
Director
Alistair is the Founder and Director of Y.Projects and a licensed residential and commercial builder with over 15 years of industry experience. Holding a Bachelor of Construction from the University of Melbourne, Alistair leads the business with a clear vision for delivering high-quality, design-driven homes that balance creativity, precision, and buildability.
With a deep respect for craftsmanship and a sharp eye for design, Alistair sets the standard across every Y.Projects build — from early planning through to on-site delivery. He’s highly selective about the trades and consultants he works with, building a team that shares his drive, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things properly. The result is a collaborative, high-performing team focused on achieving exceptional outcomes for every client.
Outside of work, Alistair values time away from site to recharge, drawing inspiration from good design, quality spaces, and the people around him — bringing fresh perspective and energy back into every project he leads.
Practice Manager
Georgia has been part of Y.Projects since day one, initially supporting the business part-time before stepping into a full-time role three years ago. As Practice Manager, she wears many hats — overseeing accounts, marketing, and the day-to-day operations that keep the business running smoothly behind the scenes. She plays a key role in supporting the team and ensuring everything stays on track as the business continues to grow.
Outside of work, Georgia enjoys getting out for walks with her dog and trying new restaurants whenever she gets the chance.
Architect
Dharmishta (Dee) is our in-house designer, holding a Master’s Degree in Architecture and a strong passion for thoughtful, well-resolved design. She approaches every plan with precision and clear intent, skilfully turning client ideas into beautifully considered designs that truly come to life.
When she’s not designing, Dee enjoys getting lost in a good book, creating with clay, and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Her creativity and attention to detail carry through everything she does.
Estimator
Angel is our go-to estimating admin, all the way from the Philippines. With an engineering background and a strong head for numbers, she provides essential support to both the site and office teams. Her computer skills and attention to architectural detail make her a perfect fit for Y.Projects.
When she’s not working, Angel enjoys listening to music, exploring beaches and scenic spots, and taking in architecture wherever she goes.
Site Supervisor
Steve is one of our Site Supervisors, with over 20 years of hands-on building experience and construction running through his veins. Following in his father’s footsteps, he’s taken a lifetime of carpentry know-how and applied it to every Y.Projects build since day one.
There’s not much Steven hasn’t seen or fixed on site — his skill and experience mean deadlines get met, problems get solved, and quality never gets compromised. He’s also the go-to guy for mentoring the team, passing on tips and tricks that only someone with his experience could know.
When the tools are down, Steven is either at the footy, out camping, or soaking up some classic Australian pub tunes — living proof that you can love your craft and still have a good time.
Site Supervisor
Tristan has been part of the team since the early days, beginning his journey as a chippy and steadily working his way up to Site Supervisor. Hands-on and approachable, he believes no task is too small and leads by example on every site. With his broad knowledge, strong skills, and unwavering dedication, he’s a trusted and essential member of the team.
Known for being a good laugh on site, Tristan also keeps the workday lively with a diverse playlist — ranging from heavy metal and classic hits to the occasional K-pop track. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling and spending time in the kitchen cooking.
Carpenter
Jhon started off as a carpenter subby before becoming a full-time part of the team, and he’s been a great fit ever since. His friendly, easy-going personality keeps things light-hearted on site, making him a pleasure to work alongside and someone everyone gets on with.
When he’s not on site, you’ll usually find Jhon and his partner hitting the iron at the gym, putting in just as much effort there as he does at work.
Apprentice
AJ joined the team mid-2025 as our apprentice and has already proven to be a studious and motivated addition. Alongside his apprenticeship, he’s also studying Building and Construction, showing real commitment to learning the trade and building a strong foundation for his future.
Outside of work, AJ keeps busy bike riding, rock climbing, and getting creative in the kitchen with his cooking.
Chief Happiness Officer | Good Girl Since Day One
Sloane has been with Y.Projects since day one and has proudly held the title of Chief Happiness Officer ever since. A founding team member, she plays a vital role in maintaining office morale, welcoming visitors, and ensuring everyone takes a well-timed break (usually for pats).
In her spare time, Sloane enjoys long walks, strategic snoozing in sunny spots, and enthusiastically accepting affection from anyone willing to offer it.
Her only downfall? If given the chance, she will absolutely eat everyone’s lunch, no exceptions.
