You wouldn’t guess it from the picturesque front garden and driveway, but this double-fronted Edwardian on Wattletree Road was just about begging for an update. Dated by low doorways, stucco plaster-lined walls and a kitchen straight out of the ’90s, the property needed modernising to keep step with the life of a young family.
We teamed up with Aydan over at AdDesign to tackle this project. We knocked over the house’s back half, then extended both out and up. For the fresh new interiors, we used fluted glass windows, endless amounts of joinery and a black steel staircase up to the new first floor.
On the outside, we put together a full alfresco experience by building an outdoor brick fireplace and timber-lined entertaining area, plus a brand-spanking new swimming pool.
Since completion, this absolute beauty of a home has been featured in the Grand Designs Australia Magazine and on The Local Project making it even more of a special project.
