Clifton Hill 1.0
Completed.
This traditional Victorian terrace workers’ cottage adjacent to the Clifton Hill Shot Tower is, to put things lightly, a renovator’s delight. While broken timber floors, cracked walls and window leaks could be generously called ‘character’, we’d say this project came just in time.
On a quest to prove that beautiful design doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, we’re approaching both design and construction with a conscious budget. We knocked the existing extension down and took this heritage beauty back to its bare bones. Then we restored, as well as re-extended the house up and out.
The hero of this build is the walnut cabinetry throughout the kitchen and bathrooms, contrasted against industrial fittings and the contemporary feel of concrete floors, exposed brickwork, black windows and tundra-grey natural stone. We even built a roof top terrace, tucked away in the heritage roof line to accommodate a cheeky Sunday afternoon drink.
